Game Preserve closes for Summer

  • If you have not been fully vaccinated, a face covering and/or social distancing is strongly recommended.

ATA Trap Marathon


April 11, 2026

All-day trap event - both fields reserved. Participation at the event is open to all members of the Amateur Trapshooting Association - both WSC members, and the public.

Targets only; $20.00 per hundred. Singles, Handicap, Doubles. No options, purses, or prizes.

$6.00 ATA and MATA daily fees apply. The shoot is sanctioned by the ATA, and scores will be entered into the ATA's official records. ATA rules apply. Entrants must be members of the ATA to participate; however, participants will be able to join the ATA at this event.

Lunch, coffee, and sodas will be available.

Management reserves any entry or to change the program or cancel the event at its discretion.

To volunteer help run the event (AM or PM) for annual work hours credit, or if you have questions, contact the Trap Chair or the ATA Doubles Trap League Liaison.

Action Bay Qualifications (PISTOL RANGE CLOSED)

Qualifications for use of the Action Bays by club members, to ensure that participants can safely use a holster with a handgun and shoot safely.

In essence, there will be a written test, and you will be required to draw and fire from a holster and hit a target at thirty feet.

Requirements:

  • Center fire handgun in an acceptable caliber (see the rules)
  • Belt-style holster that completely covers the trigger guard of the gun
  • At least 30 rounds of ammo
  • Orange range card (see the CRO for replacement of lost cards)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Baseball-style hat
  • A digital/printed copy of the rules for reference during the test
  • A pen to take the written test

Full requirements are in the Action Bay Qualification Procedures.

The test is an open book 25-question multiple-choice which must be completed in 30 minutes. The passing grade is 84%, and requires great familiarity with the rules to finish in time.

This is a qualification session for the Action Bays. Successful completion is required to gain access to the Action Bays.

All members must have an Orange Card to use the outdoor ranges. Cards are issued after a safety briefing, given by the Outdoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance. Please follow the instructions in the Chair's response carefully.

Indoor Pistol Range GSSR - Range Reserved

All members must pass a Gun Skills Safety Review (GSSR) to gain access to the Indoor Range (via their WSC Proximity Cards). Proximity Card permissions are updated after the GSSR by the Indoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance.

Agenda:

  • Meet in the clubhouse downstairs
  • View a safety video
  • Take a brief quiz on range procedures
  • Demonstrate safe gun handling and usage with a live-fire test
    (Bring gun and approved target ammo)

All ranges, indoor and out, will be closed during this event.

  • The Kitchen chair will be managing the kitchen detail starting at 5:00AM, so if you are an early riser you can help there
  • The parking detail starts at 6:30AM
  • Registration starts at 7:30AM
  • Fishing from 8:00AM – 10:30AM
  • Prizes awarded at 11:00AM

Other work items that day include:

  • Distributing fishing gear.
  • Helping visitors at the pond.
  • Measuring and scoring fish at the fishing shack.
  • Serving food.
  • Monitoring the fire pit.
  • Trash detail - cleaning up.
