Membership in the Westford Sportsmen’s Club, Inc. is open to all persons at least 18 years old, without discrimination on the basis of sex, race, color or religion.
Membership Application Process
Prospective members must submit a completed application form to the . The prospect’s contact information is used to generate an EMailed invitation link to an online New Member Presentation, run by the Membership Secretary of the club via the Zoom video conferencing system. The required names of two WSC sponsors may be obtained at the meeting. Application forms are available online, and at the clubhouse during all meetings and special events.
Please strive to download your application form, fill it out electronically, and submit it by EMail at least one week before the scheduled teleconference. Not all PDF readers support form-filling; you may get the best results by using a recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader or an equivalent reader.
New Member Presentations are normally conducted at 9:00 AM on the 3rd Sunday of the month. However, always consult the web calendar for the month in question. No dues/fees are collected at the New Member Presentation. The New Member Presentation includes an Applicant Briefing slide show; please review that PDF of the slides before the starting time.
The video conference should last approximately one hour, depending on the number of applicants. Please leave time to click on the EMailed invitation’s conference link half an hour ahead of time, in case Zoom wants to install client software. Any installation should be simple, quick, and free of charge, but should be undertaken well before the scheduled meeting time.
After attending a New Member Presentation video conference, the prospect’s application will be reviewed by the club’s Executive Board. The E-Board will vote on the applicant within 30 days of the video conference.
After being confirmed by E-Board, new members will pay a one-time initiation fee of $180. Normally applicants also pay their first year’s annual dues of $150. (Dues for seniors 65 and older are $75, spouses of members are also $75, and senior spouses’ are $37.50). However, as part of a special membership drive, first year dues are suspended for 2021.
Spouses never pay an initiation fee. Active members of the Junior Club, or regular participants in other regular club activities, are eligible for regular membership between ages 18-21 without the payment of the initiation fee. Those who were on active duty in the military at age 21 are exempt from initiation fee for 6 months after their release from active duty.
During the year, non-senior members are expected to contribute 4 work hours per year. This can be done by supporting a club activity, or helping out at work-parties, or special events. Members may opt to pay $50 in lieu of work at renewal time at the end of the year. There is no work requirement for spouses or Senior members. Payments may be made in cash or by check (payable to “Westford Sportsmen’s Club”).
