Membership in the Westford Sportsmen’s Club, Inc. is open to all persons at least 18 years old, without discrimination on the basis of sex, race, color or religion.
Prospective members will attend a New Member Presentation, run by the Membership Secretary of the club. It is strongly suggested they bring a completed application form with them to the meeting. Application forms are available online, and at the clubhouse during all meetings and special events. (Please bring your application with you to the membership committee meeting – do not mail it.) The application will need to be endorsed by two current members of the club. If you don’t already know two members, you can get started by joining us for Sporting Clays or Trap.
New Member Presentations are normally conducted at the club at 9:00 AM on the 3rd Sunday of the month. If necessary, it is possible to complete the application form and obtain the required endorsements from club members at this meeting. No dues/fees are collected at the New Member Presentation. The New Member Presentation starts with a Power Point presentation, so please plan to arrive and be seated by the starting time. The meeting should last approximately one hour, depending on the number of applicants.
After attending a New Member Presentation, all applicants must complete the process by attending a General Membership Meeting to be voted in by the general membership. The General Meeting starts at 7:30 PM, usually on the 1st Monday of the month (2nd Monday if the 1st is a holiday). If prospective New Members cannot attend the next General Membership meeting, their applications will be saved for one year or until they can attend a General Membership meeting. New Members are voted in early at the general Membership meeting, so please be prompt. Dinner is available at general meetings (the entrée changes monthly), so check the month’s calendar for the evening’s fare and consider arriving early to eat.
After being voted in at the General Membership meeting, new members will pay a one-time initiation fee of $180. They will also pay their annual dues of $150. Dues for seniors 65 and older are $75. Spouses of members pay $75 dues, Senior spouses’ dues are $37.50. Spouses pay no initiation fee.
During the year, non-senior members are expected to contribute 4 work hours per year. This can be done through work-parties, or supporting activities, or special events. Members may opt to pay $50 in lieu of work at renewal time at the end of the year. There is no work requirement for spouses or Senior members. Payments may be made in cash or by check (payable to “Westford Sportsmen’s Club”).
