July 8, 2026(2 events) Steel Challenge Practice (Rifle Range and two Action Bays CLOSED) – Today's session will be held on the rifle range and Action Bays #1 and #3; which will be dedicated to Steel Challenge from 5:00PM-dusk. Action Bay-qualified shooters can sign up on Practiscore to attend. Fee: $5.00, collected at 5:00PM at the beginning of the match. Please be sure to arrive by 5:00 pm at the Action Bay entrance to: check in, prepare your equipment, and attend the mandatory 5:45PM Safety Briefing which is a requirement to shoot. First shots will begin at 6:00PM; we estimate that we will finish shooting by 7:30PM, depending on the number of participants. We should be done packing up by 8:00PM Caution: the event may be canceled in case of inclement weather. If so, the Action Shooting Pits chair will send EMail by 4:30PM. July 12, 2026(3 events) Action Bay Qualifications – Qualifications for use of the Action Bays by club members, to ensure that participants can safely use a holster with a handgun and shoot safely. In essence, there will be a written test, and you will be required to draw and fire from a holster and hit a target at thirty feet. Requirements:
Full requirements are in the Action Bay Qualification Procedures. The test is an open book 25-question multiple-choice which must be completed in 30 minutes. The passing grade is 84%, and requires great familiarity with the rules to finish in time. Resources: Action Bay Range Rules and Cross Functional Rules Registration is required, to ensure that you can be notified of last-minute schedule changes. Contact the Action Bay Chair. This is a qualification session for the Action Bays. Successful completion is required to gain access to the Action Bays. Outdoor Action Bay Range Outdoor Range Safety Briefing (Pistol range closed) – Registration Required!! All members must have an Orange Card to use the outdoor ranges. Cards are issued after a safety briefing, given by the Outdoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance. Please follow the instructions in the Chair's response carefully. Note well: you must register to ensure that you can be notified of a last-minute schedule changes.
