WSC Archery: Make Your Own BowstringsWSC Archery: Make Your Own Bowstrings – We've seen 15 bows started this Spring at WSC, and it's time they had custom strings! On Saturday morning July 5, we'll meet in the archery corner starting around 9:00, and learn how to twist up strings for any traditional bow. Materials will be provided for all our bow making participants. Chip in towards Dominoes if you'd like a pizza lunch. |

WSC Archery Lessons - Beginner to AdvancedWSC Archery Lessons - Beginner to Advanced – Join our instructor/coach Shinji Yue for member lessons at the archery range. There's a $5 donation per archer which goes towards our archery equipment fund, and the range is open after the session so you can practice what you've learned. We ask that you email (shinji_yue@yahoo.com) in advance so we know how many people, and what ages to prepare for. Walk-ins are welcome too, but please understand that unless some members commit to coming beforehand, the session may be cancelled. |

WSC Archery: Wood Bow Clinic Session 3WSC Archery: Wood Bow Clinic Session 3 – We've had a great turnout for this year's wood bow clinics; with 9 oak, maple and elm bows underway, and 5 more already planned. This Sunday we'll be working on tillering (maybe working at the range tables) as well as getting new bows started. Remember that this year we're prepping bow blanks to basic shape for you, so within 2-3 weeks you'll be tillering your own bow. The team is wood shopping this week, so we can still get a few more bows started if we know in advance you're coming. We request a $20 donation to help cover our wood and material costs, plus whatever you chip in towards coffee and snacks. See you there! New Member PresentationNew Member Presentation – A presentation for prospective members is held in the clubhouse. Indoor range is closed. The meeting starts with the presentation, so please plan on being seated by the starting time. The meeting should last approximately one hour, depending on the number of applicants. WSC Archery: Wood Bow 4, Target FixWSC Archery: Wood Bow 4, Target Fix – We have 16 wooden bows already underway this year, with a few more expected before we move on to arrows, leatherwork, and 3D. This Sunday we'll be prepared to review your wood removal, get nocks cut, and continue your tillering - as weather permits we'll move outdoors to the range tables for wood work. I'll also bring linen for backing bows that can use it; this is something you can do at home with some Titebond III glue. Also on the docket for Sunday is an experimental fix for shot-out 3D targets; we'll be applying some two-part foam and see if we can salvage some worn-out inventory. See you there! Handgun Shooting ClinicHandgun Shooting Clinic – To help improve your shooting and safety, Jim Conway will be hosting a handgun shooting clinic from 12 PM to 5 PM. $20 for members; $35 for non-members. Costs to cover targets and other materials. Pre-registration is required. Clinic will be capped at 30 people. Handgun range will be reserved for the duration of the clinic. This is a clinic and not a course and, as such, it is focused on problem solving. If you know what your shooting problems are, please let us know. We want to help you. To attend you will need eye and ear protection, a usable handgun, with spare magazines and a holster that covers the trigger guard. If you do not have a holster, just bring a hand towel. The amount of ammunition that you will need is a bit hard to specify, but my best guess is that you will need somewhere between 250 and 400 rounds. EMail Jim to register: |

WSC Archery: Wood Bow 5 (Tillering)WSC Archery: Wood Bow 5 (Tillering) – We have a lot of bows underway and expect 1-2 more starts; this Sunday we should have many of them on the tillering rigs. Dave and Jeff will be away, but I will bring as many tools as I can. Bring your own scrapers, sanding blocks, 60-100-150 sandpaper and long strings, and if you have a vise or clamps to hold bows on tables, bring them too - weather permitting we'll go over to the range. WSC Archery: 3D Intro & Family CookoutWSC Archery: 3D Intro & Family Cookout – This Pot Luck/Cookout event is for fun; a chance for new shooters (or old shooters with new bows!) to try 3D archery in an informal setting. We're planning on a short loop using the first 5-6 lanes on our East course, and will try to get experienced shooters to go around with each group to help with rules, scoring, and etiquette. This will be a great preparation for WSC's next Granite State 3D Shoot on August 17. We'll have the fire pit and grill going, and there is power available to power a limited number of crockpots/etc. Bring a dish or dogs/burgers/sausages/ for cooking, and be prepared to share! The WSC Kitchen will provide waters, soft drinks, coffee and disposables. |
