    Sunday afternoon trap.

    Trap has resumed on a semi-restricted basis for WSC members, and their friends and family only. (The front gate will not be left ajar by the Trap committee, so if your family/guests are not carpooling and don't have a gate card, please coordinate to let them through upon their arrival). Also, payments for rounds may now be made online.

    Participant use of the online reservation system that was inaugurated during the coronavirus lockdown is now optional - reservations are no longer mandatory. However, the reservation system is still an excellent place to check before heading to the club in case a session has been canceled at the last minute.

    Annual potluck dinner. Note early start time, to allow for dining and socializing before the business meeting starts at 7:30PM. Indoor range closed starting at 2:30PM.

    Bring an entree, side, or dessert in your own serving dish/utensils, and the club will supply free beverages, flatware, plates, napkins, etc.

    Guest speaker: Two Westford Animal Control officers share some stories and information about what they do.

    General Membership meeting at the clubhouse, shared via Zoom teleconference for those who do not wish to meet in person. Connection details to be supplied by club E-blast; here is a copy of the links that you can click on.

    If you choose to attend the meetings in person:

    • If you have been fully vaccinated, no face covering is required.
    • If you have not been fully vaccinated, a face covering and/or social distancing is strongly recommended.

    USCCA's Women’s Handgun and Self-Defense Fundamentals is a welcoming and engaging training class created for women who are seeking to begin, improve upon, or add to their firearms skills.

    With three distinct modules, this course is designed for those who are brand new to firearms and those who are ready to learn more about defensive shooting.

    • Basics and fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed,
      and then built upon, while also exploring:
    • Situational awareness
    • Common types of handguns
    • Ammunition types, malfunctions
    • Firearms handling skills
    • Defensive pistol fundamentals
    • The use of deadly force
    • Concealed carry clothing
    • Carrying when you have children or loved ones around

    Whether you’ve never touched a firearm, you’re looking for the next steps in your training, or you’ve chosen to learn about the skills, tools, and mindset needed to use firearms for self-defense, you can be prepared to carry confidently every day with tips and techniques from experienced women in the world of firearms.

    Materials provided: LTC Handouts, USCCA Carry Concealed and Home Defense Book, and use of firearms if needed

    Cost to Student: $100– This covers cost of book ($30), instructor insurance ($30), certificate, 50 rounds of ammunition, and donation to WSC.

    The class will gather in the clubhouse upstairs meeting room. Target practice will use either the indoor or outdoor ranges, depending upon the weather.

    WSC will host this year's Musketaquid Regional Ducks Unlimited fall sportsmens dinner in the clubhouse upstairs meeting room.

    The Banquet has unfortunately been canceled for December 2022.

    The Indoor Range is closed for the duration of the event remains open after all.

    Registration Required!!

    All members must have an Orange Card to use the outdoor ranges. Cards are issued after a safety briefing, given by the Outdoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance. Please follow the instructions in the Chair's response carefully.

    Note well: you must register to ensure that you can be notified of a last-minute schedule changes.

    All members must pass a Gun Skills Safety Review (GSSR) to gain access to the Indoor Range (via their WSC Proximity Cards). Proximity Card permissions are updated after the GSSR by the Indoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance.

    Agenda:

    • Meet in the clubhouse downstairs
    • View a safety video
    • Take a brief quiz on range procedures
    • Demonstrate safe gun handling and usage with a live-fire test
      (Bring gun and approved target ammo)

    Learn the 2 Day Fundamentals of Defensive Concealed Carry of a Firearm and earn your Basic Firearms Safety Certification which allows you to apply for the Massachusetts License to Carry. This course combines the State of Massachusetts and United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) curriculum into an energetic and fast paced two-day learning experience appropriate for all skill levels. Sign up here. Details:

    • Completion and passing of written will give the attendee the Basic Firearms Safety certificate that is required to apply for the Massachusetts LTC
    • Completion of the class provides the attendee with a certification of completion of the USCCA Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals
    • The focus is: The safe and appropriate use of firearms. This major focus is on safety in order to protect the individual, others and our rights including the safe storage, unloading, managing and legalities of all types of firearms
    • Attendees will learn the fundamentals and mechanical operations of handguns, rifles and shotguns including correct grip, stance, handling, aiming, loading, firing, safing, etc.
    • Full coverage of both the State of Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety the USCCA Firearms Safety, Home Defense and Concealed Carry including:
    • * Understanding how to avoid conflict and awareness of your surroundings
    • * The psychology of violent encounters
    • * The legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath)
    • * Home security and home defense
    • * The use of force and the best way to avoid ever having to use your firearm
    • Exposure to several different handguns – revolvers, semiautomatics, various sizes
    • 4 hours of live fire intermixed throughout the course
