October 2, 2022Sunday afternoon trap.
Trap has resumed on a semi-restricted basis for WSC members, and their friends and family only. (The front gate will not be left ajar by the Trap committee, so if your family/guests are not carpooling and don't have a gate card, please coordinate to let them through upon their arrival). Also, payments for rounds may now be made online.
Participant use of the online reservation system that was inaugurated during the coronavirus lockdown is now optional - reservations are no longer mandatory. However, the reservation system is still an excellent place to check before heading to the club in case a session has been canceled at the last minute.

October 3, 2022General Membership meeting at the clubhouse, shared via Zoom teleconference for those who do not wish to meet in person. Connection details to be supplied by club E-blast; here is a copy of the links that you can click on.
If you choose to attend the meetings in person:
- If you have been fully vaccinated, no face covering is required.
- If you have not been fully vaccinated, a face covering and/or social distancing is strongly recommended.
The monthly meal is: Shepherd's pie, a roll, choice of drink, and dessert - all for $5.00!

Action Bays Club Match/Demo Action Bays Club Match/Demo

October 8, 2022A club match and a demonstration match is scheduled for the Action Bays. The club match will begin at 9:00AM, and is for members that have qualified in the Action Bays. The demonstration match begins at 1:00PM, and is open to any club member that has not qualified in the Action Bays, but does have their orange card for the outdoor ranges.
The details as follows:
Club match - Setup will start at 7:30AM. Please come early to help set up. The match starts at 9:00AM, sharp. There will be six stages. Round count will be sixty rounds total. There will be a mix of steel, paper, stationary and moving targets. There will be draw from the holster as well as staged starts. You will need at least two magazines of ten rounds each max, or at least two speed loaders for a revolver for each stage. Expected finish time is 12:00 noon. Any gun acceptable in the bays may be used. We will have divisions for revolvers, semi auto pistols, pistol caliber carbines, .22LR, iron sights, and red dots.
Demonstration match - We will be using the same setup as the club match. Starting time is 1:30PM sharp. Targets are as above. Round count will be fifty rounds. All starts will be from a staged setting or from the low ready position. Any gun that is allowed in the Action Bays will be OK for this match. Acceptable calibers are .22LR, any of the .32 calibers, .38spl, 9mm, .40S&W, and .45ACP.

Come on out and enjoy the Action Bays. Spectators will be allowed for both matches. Ear and Eye protection is required at all times in the Action Bays during a match. Let's make some noise!

Action Bay Qualifications (PISTOL RANGE CLOSED) Action Bay Qualifications (PISTOL RANGE CLOSED)

October 9, 2022Qualifications for use of the Action Bays by club members, to ensure that participants can safely use a holster with a handgun and shoot safely.
In essence, there will be a written test, and you will be required to draw and fire from a holster and hit a target at thirty feet.
Requirements:
- Center fire handgun in an acceptable caliber (see the rules)
- Belt-style holster that completely covers the trigger guard of the gun
- At least 30 rounds of ammo
- Orange range card (see the CRO for replacement of lost cards)
- Eye and ear protection
- Baseball-style hat
- A digital/printed copy of the rules for reference during the test
- A pen to take the written test
Full requirements are in the Action Bay Qualification Procedures.
The test is an open book 25-question multiple-choice which must be completed in 30 minutes. The passing grade is 84%, and requires great familiarity with the rules to finish in time.

All members must have an Orange Card to use the outdoor ranges. Cards are issued after a safety briefing, given by the Outdoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance. Please follow the instructions in the Chair's response carefully.
Note well: you must register to ensure that you can be notified of a last-minute schedule changes.

October 11, 2022All members must pass a Gun Skills Safety Review (GSSR) to gain access to the Indoor Range (via their WSC Proximity Cards). Proximity Card permissions are updated after the GSSR by the Indoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance.
