June 1, 2014Here's another opportunity to get in your work hours and take an active part in maintaining the quality of your club. There will be a work party to do clean-up and maintenance on the outdoor ranges. NRA Certified Range Safety Officers are especially encouraged to attend. Hope to see you there.

June 1, 2014Join WSC Archery Chief Instructor Shinji Yue for our first target archery event of 2014. He's organizing programs for youth and adults from absolute beginners to advanced Olympic-style competition. Courses will be held on Sundays from 1:30-3:30PM.
Registration is required, and there is a $5 fee per session - see the attached form or announcement sent to the archery list for details. Email me (kentowl "at" earthlink "dot" net) for more information, or forwarding to Shinji Yue.

June 7, 2014PVC Bow Clinic: completing the youth recurve bows started last time (final tweaking, with strings and test shooting), also starting new PVC bows. Please let us know if you plan to attend, and how many bows you'll want to start ($5/bow) so we'll have material.
(Note: We pushed this back a week because of the aviculture auction calendared for June 1, then moved to Saturday because the auction is actually on June 8.)

June 22, 2014Sunday, June 15 - 9:00 AM to 1:00 for clubhouse main meeting room cleaning. Plan is to wash all windows, tables then sweep, vacuum, wash and wax floor. Will need a few people to help out. All materials will be supplied. There should be no shooting on the inside range while we're working upstairs. Will count toward work hours. WSC Archery Lessons - Beginner to Advanced WSC Archery Lessons - Beginner to Advanced

June 28, 2014Join our instructor/coach Shinji Yue for member lessons at the archery range. There's a $5 donation per archer which goes towards our archery equipment fund, and the range is open after the session so you can practice what you've learned.
We ask that you email (shinji_yue@yahoo.com) in advance so we know how many people, and what ages to prepare for. Walk-ins are welcome too, but please understand that unless some members commit to coming beforehand, the session may be cancelled.

Learn the basics of the bowyer's art while completing your own wooden bow. This year we'll start with prepared blanks so you can shoot your bow sooner. Each participant will "tiller" their own bow, gradually removing small amounts of wood with drawknife, rasps and sandpaper until the bow bends smoothly and evenly to the desired draw weight. We'll add linen backings to these bows for security, and show you how to make B50 dacron bowstrings too.Trap Range Open Trap Range Open
