Trap Fields Open (Members/Friends/Family Only) Trap Fields Open (Members/Friends/Family Only)

May 1, 2022Sunday afternoon trap.
Trap has resumed on a semi-restricted basis for WSC members, and their friends and family only. (The front gate will not be left ajar by the Trap committee, so if your family/guests are not carpooling and don't have a gate card, please coordinate to let them through upon their arrival). Also, payments for rounds may now be made online.
Participant use of the online reservation system that was inaugurated during the coronavirus lockdown is now optional - reservations are no longer mandatory. However, the reservation system is still an excellent place to check before heading to the club in case a session has been canceled at the last minute.

May 2, 2022Both of WSC's Trap fields are open on Mondays in summer for Trap Team Practice.
For our members on the Greater Lowell Trap League, this is a great time to get in practice in lighting situations similar to League evening shoots.
(In theory shooting continues until sunset,
but most evenings folks get their fill before then).Direct any questions to our Trap Chair.

Action Bay Qualifications (PISTOL RANGE CLOSED) Action Bay Qualifications (PISTOL RANGE CLOSED)

May 7, 2022Qualifications for use of the Action Bays by club members, to ensure that participants can safely use a holster with a handgun and shoot safely.
In essence, there will be a written test, and you will be required to draw and fire from a holster and hit a target at thirty feet.
Requirements:
- Center fire handgun in an acceptable caliber (see the rules)
- Belt-style holster that completely covers the trigger guard of the gun
- At least 30 rounds of ammo
- Orange range card (see the CRO for replacement of lost cards)
- Eye and ear protection
- Baseball-style hat
- A digital/printed copy of the rules for reference during the test
- A pen to take the written test
Full requirements are in the Action Bay Qualification Procedures.
The test is an open book 25-question multiple-choice which must be completed in 30 minutes. The passing grade is 21 correct answers, and requires great familiarity with the rules to finish in time.

All members must have an Orange Card to use the outdoor ranges. Cards are issued after a safety briefing, given by the Outdoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance. Please follow the instructions in the Chair's response carefully.

Indoor Pistol Range GSSR - Range Reserved Indoor Pistol Range GSSR - Range Reserved

May 10, 2022All members must pass a Gun Skills Safety Review (GSSR) to gain access to the Indoor Range (via their WSC Proximity Cards). Proximity Card permissions are updated after the GSSR by the Indoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance.

- Take a brief quiz on range procedures
- Demonstrate safe gun handling and usage with a live-fire test

and folks are not looking forward to Sunday's tropical heat.The cleanup day will be rescheduled.
We will be having a "spring cleaning" work party. Our activities Chairmen have compiled a list of jobs and we will be holding a club-wide work party to tackle as many as we can. This is a great opportunity to get out to the club, meet some of your fellow members and to complete your annual work commitment. Please consider joining us.
