Mass Wildlife Coyote Hearing at Blanchard School Mass Wildlife Coyote Hearing at Blanchard School
–
June 4, 2019It has come to our attention that MA Wildlife will be holding a series of "Public Listening Sessions" regarding coyote hunting. Currently, MA Wildlife has scheduled June 4th to be at the Blanchard School in Westford from 6‐8 PM to present and listen to public comment.
We encourage anyone with thoughts on this subject to attend the meeting at the school and to speak when the opportunity presents itself. If you have had an issue with pets being attacked, or just enjoy the thrill of Coyote hunting, this is a rare opportunity to speak directly to MA wildlife without having to take a day off from work and travel into Boston. We have also heard that a group called "Project Coyote" may attend this meeting as well. This is an anti‐hunting group whose goal is to limit ALL predator hunting in the hopes that having more predators will someday eliminate the need for humans to hunt other prey species. We STRONGLY encourage you to NOT directly confront these people if they do show up. Rather, keep your comments directed to MA Wildlife. Be respectful. Tell your story, and explain the legitimate virtues of hunting as the most cost and results effective method for managing ALL wildlife.
If you have any additional questions, please follow up with the WSC Education Chair.
