Game Preserve closes for Summer

Granite State Bowhunters 3-D Shoot, All Archers Welcome! INDOOR RANGE CLOSED

The Archery group is hosting a Granite State Bowhunters 3D shoot.

Adult GSB shooters with membership cards pay $12, non-members $15 - save $3 by joining GSB at registration ($10 for individuals, $15 for families). Under 18's shoot free.

The clubhouse upstairs will be running a cafe, so the indoor range is closed for the duration. Outdoor ranges should remain open.

Trap Team Practice

Both of WSC's Trap fields are open on Mondays in summer for Trap Team practice.

For our members on the Greater Lowell Trap League, this is a great time to get in practice in lighting situations similar to League evening shoots.

Set-up starts at 4:30PM; shooting starts at 5:00PM and at least runs until 6:30PM, if not sunset.

Hybrid General Membership Meeting; Dinner: Breaded Chicken Sandwich; Speaker: Deerfield River fishing

General Membership meeting at the clubhouse, shared via Zoom teleconference for those who do not wish to meet in person. Connection details to be supplied by club E-blast; here is a copy of the links that you can click on.

If you choose to attend the meetings in person:

  • If you have been fully vaccinated, no face covering is required.
  • If you have not been fully vaccinated, a face covering and/or social distancing is strongly recommended.

The monthly meal is: Breaded Chicken Sandwich, Side Salad, Dessert, Choice of Drink - all for only $5.00!

The guest speaker is Jonathan Bunker of Square Tail Anglers, a fishing guide on the Deerfield River.

Massachusetts Gun Law Seminar (Indoor Range Closed)

April 4, 2023

This 3½+ hour long seminar explains state and federal laws and regulations in layperson terms. Students will explore applicable MGL and CMR as it pertains to definitions, gun purchase, possession, transport, record keeping requirements, buying/selling, interstate transport, interstate purchase, ammunition storage and best practices for gun owners.

Tuition is $10/person; $5 will be donated to GOAL™, and $5 will be donated to the WSC Scholarship Fund.

This class is presented by Jon Green, the Director of Education and Training for GOAL. It will be taught at the WSC clubhouse upstairs meeting room.

Indoor Pistol Range GSSR - Range Reserved

All members must pass a Gun Skills Safety Review (GSSR) to gain access to the Indoor Range (via their WSC Proximity Cards). Proximity Card permissions are updated after the GSSR by the Indoor Range Chair. To attend, you must register by EMailing the Chair at least 3 days in advance.

  • Take a brief quiz on range procedures

New Member Presentation

The meeting starts with the presentation, so please plan on being seated by the starting time. The meeting should last approximately one hour, depending on the number of applicants.

Action Bay Qualifications (PISTOL RANGE CLOSED)

Qualifications for use of the Action Bays by club members, to ensure that participants can safely use a holster with a handgun and shoot safely.

In essence, there will be a written test, and you will be required to draw and fire from a holster and hit a target at thirty feet.

Requirements:

  • Center fire handgun in an acceptable caliber (see the rules)
  • Belt-style holster that completely covers the trigger guard of the gun
  • At least 30 rounds of ammo
  • Orange range card (see the CRO for replacement of lost cards)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Baseball-style hat
  • A digital/printed copy of the rules for reference during the test
  • A pen to take the written test

Full requirements are in the Action Bay Qualification Procedures.

The test is an open book 25-question multiple-choice which must be completed in 30 minutes. The passing grade is 84%, and requires great familiarity with the rules to finish in time.

Registration is required, to ensure that you can be notified of last-minute schedule changes. Contact Action Bay Chair.

This is a qualification session for the Action Bays. Successful completion is required to gain access to the Action Bays.
